Well...it’s official I have now joined the 50’s club!!!
...and I’m proud to have reached my jubilee – have never understood why people are embarrassed to admit how old they are
…for me I see it as a trophy...
…of Jesus’ saving Grace,
…His love and protection over so many years
…of the incredible things I have been privileged to see and do
…of knowing His healing balm and comfort in times of extreme loss and facing the dark night of the soul
…of looking back at the amazing friends He has given me over the years
…community
…of a loving and caring family
…so so so much more…
And deep inside the lines of a Frank Sinatra song still resonate...THE BEST IS YET TO COME
...what an amazing year this has been – and now it’s December!
I love this time of the year…I guess there is still a child that lurks in my soul
…I enjoy putting up my Christmas tree
…sourcing presents for loved ones
and singing carols and listening to the Christmas story one more time
…one of MEEKNESS AND MAJESTY
…JESUS
At this time of the year I take time to ponder the prophecies found in Isaiah
..these are my favourites
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Lift up your eyes and look about you:
All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm.
Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
to you the riches of the nations will come.
[ Isaiah 60:1-5]

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned
[ Isaiah 9:2]
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
