This time of year is always very poignant for me and my brothers as 7 years ago we lost both our parents within 10 days of one another…and since then Easter has taken on quite a deeper meaning for me

The whole dynamic of life, death and resurrection has become such a powerful truth in my life and the realisation of the great love of the Father in giving His Son, Jesus, as one who would come, understand what it is to live as human, with all it’s challenges, one who would be betrayed by his friends, one who would be mocked and brutally tortured and then forced to carry his cross to a hill where he would be hung for a crime he didn’t commit so that we could be forgiven, one who would die and then rise…to offer to us eternal life… that is powerful mystery and outrageous grace!!!!

I just love the great Paschal shout that rings out in many nations on Easter Sunday
“Christ has risen , He has risen indeed”

- I shout that over my spirit…to awaken to His love

- I shout that over my soul…to ponder His love

- I shout that over my body…to yield to His love

- I shout that over my family…to be protected in His love

- I shout that over my city…to prosper in His love

- I shout that over my nation…to be united in His love

“ Lord Jesus Christ, who upon this day did conquer death and rise from the dead,
and who are alive for ever more, help us never to forget your Risen Presence forever with us.

Help us to remember,
That you are with us in every time of perplexity to guide and to direct;
That you are with us in every time of sorrow to comfort and console;
That you are with us in every time of temptation to strengthen and to inspire;
That you are with us in every time of loneliness to cheer and befriend;
That you are with us even in death to bring us to the glory of your side.

Make us to be certain that there is nothing in time or in eternity which can separate us from you, so that in your presence we may meet life with gallantry and death without fear.

You turn our darkness into light, in your light we shall see light.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer."
