All the preparion is over and now..."let the Games begin"
I always find it awe inspiring to see how much preparation goes into this event... from the host nation getting everything built and ready...to the individual athletes who have committed to hours and hours of training, focus and discipline for that ultimate goal...to win a gold medal and if not gold silver or bronze.
I wonder how many of those athletes in their preparation "hit the wall" - got discouraged, frustrated, exhausted, felt isolated... know they were called to this great event but felt that aching desire to quit... and yet didn't!!!!
In the book of Hebrews re read in chapter 12: 1-3 we read...
Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on?
It means we'd better get on with it.
Strip down, start running—and never quit!
No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in.
Study how he did it.
Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God
—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever.
And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.
When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item,
that long litany of hostility he plowed through.
That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! [ Message Bible]
we, are called to run with God... this spiritual race is not always easy...but lets not loose focus, lets not settle for anything less than gold, lets run in such a way that we finish...and finish well
lets enjoy the process!!!
"On your marks...get set...GO"
