This past weekend we as a community took church out to the market place...instead of meeting in our normal building we decamped to the Trafford Centre, which is a huge shopping mall here in Manchester, and had the privilege of being able to sing carols and share the message of Jesus with thousands of people in the "Orient" which is the large eating area in the centre.
During the break between the 1pm and 5pm services I had a chance have some amazing conversations with various folk about my faith and even had some opportunities to pray for some folk...what a privilege.
At this time when we get together with our families, swap presents with one another, eat and drink more than we should... lets remember to keep "the main thing...the main thing" ...lets not allow Christmas to become Xmas... where Christ is no longer part of all we say, do and think.
One of the passages of scripture mentioned on Sunday was John 3:16 -17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
I really pray you have a wonder filled CHRISTmas...and with stunning gifts of LOVE, JOY, PEACE, HOPE AND LIFE
Isa 9:6-7
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and for ever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
