Massive thanks for all those who prayed for me while I was in South Africa...I had an amazing time both speaking in churches and being with the various NGO's in the Cape Town area. I also had the joy of being in South Africa as the world cup started and although people back here in the UK found the sound of the vuvuzela a pain I loved the fact that anyone and everyone could make a sound together...and the shout that was constantly being heard was "THIS IS AFRICA'S DAY"...not just South Africa's day but AFRICA...it made me smile as I do believe that not only is it Africa's Day but AFRICA SHALL BE SAVED!!!
...and now I am home!!
I know...it's been a while since I have put down any musings...it's really not a case of being too busy but rather a case of being home and trying to ensure I have time to get back into those unforced rhythms of grace and enjoying just having time to "be" in the midst of all the doing!!
There is something amazing about being HOME..I stay in some amazing homes with some amazing people who are incredibly kind and incredibly generous and who make me feel so at home ...but being in my own home takes it to a whole new level!! - pottering around in my kitchen. lying on the couch in my lounge, sleeping in my gorgeous bed and planting and weeding in my garden...I love it!!!
...it's also a place where it's Jesus and me... where I listen, talk, cry, laugh and be with Him...at HOME WITH HIM
A while back read this little poem about home... not too sure who wrote it but whoever did...I thank you because this is how I view my home
Home
Home is the place your heart resides
Home is the place that you decide
Home is the womb that holds the soul
Home is the place where one is whole
Home is the glow you hold in your eye
Home is the emotion that makes you cry
Home is safe and a place of peace
Home is where all strivings cease
Home is protective against the others
Home is full of sisters and brothers
Home is where you find your rest
Home is where you feel your best
Home is a memory that follows your being
Home is a dream for those agreeing
Home is the place where reserves fall
Home is the place you yearn to call
Home is where the family meets
Home is a place of restful retreats
Home is the place you know you’ll be heard
Home is the pace where nothing blurs
Home is all these wonderful things
Home is the place you develop wings
Home is the place that you’ll find one day
Home is the place where your heart will stay
...so this time here at home in Manchester is so so good!
yes... travel is coming up again in the near future but for now...I've grounded myself... I'M HOME!!
